In the Cronkite Agency at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, students gain real-world experience serving local, regional and national clients while leveraging the expertise of the Agency’s faculty leaders. 

Within the Cronkite Agency, I worked as a Digital Marketing Specialist in the Digital Marketing Lab. My client was Issues in Science and Technology.

Client Overview

Issues in Science and Technology is a thought-provoking journal specializing in public policy related to science and technology discussions. Rather than solely relying on the work of experts, Issues incorporates work from researchers, government officials, business leaders, and others with a stake in public policy who share ideas with a broad audience. 

Goals and Objectives

  • Increase Instagram following by 2% --> 13 followers

  • Gain 15 more followers on Spotify for their podcast, The Ongoing Transformation

  • Attract 200 active users to their /Newsletter page

Results

  • Increased Instagram following by 5.4% (+35)

  • Increased Spotify podcast following by 8.6% (+43)

  • Increased active users to /newsletter page by 6960% (+3,132 )

How We Achieved Our Goals

  • Created and executed ad campaigns to improve our client's visibility on social media and gain website traffic to their /Newsletter page

  • Performed search and keyword optimization​

  • Analyzed trends and campaign statistics through platforms like Google Analytics

  • Developed weekly and monthly reports to send to our client
